John received words directly from Jesus for the 7 churches in Asia which represent the "whole" number of churches then, today, and tomorrow. During suffering and hardship, we receive encouragement to persevere and worship by looking to Jesus. We should be willing to sacrifice and suffer in relationships to speak the truth.
