Jesus commissions His disciples and reminds them that they will be empowered to fulfill God's mission when He leaves. Luke (the author) emphasizes what the disciples will be doing and how they will do it in this passage. We, as believers, are commissioned by God to do the same thing. We are commanded to go and be His witness of the Gospel message to the whole world.
