What must I do to be saved?
Romans 3:23 tells us, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Therefore, in order to be saved, you must admit that you are a sinner, that you have broken God’s law, and repent (turn away) from the sin in your life.
Romans 6:23 tells us, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 tells us, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This means that you must receive the gift of salvation God has offered you in His Son Jesus, who Himself is God, and became a man through the virgin birth, lived a perfect sinless life and died for your sins on a cross, by turning to Him.
Romans 10:9-10 tells us, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Salvation belongs to the Lord. He has offered it to you freely, but it was not cheap. It cost the life of His Son, and if you believe this and confess this God will save you.
What time does Buffalo Baptist Church meet for worship?
We have a variety of meeting times for various ages. Our meeting times can be found here.
What should I wear to Buffalo Baptist Church?
You can come to Buffalo just as you are, although we do tend to dress a certain way. Our Early Riser’s service is more relaxed and you will probably feel comfortable in business casual attire, and even jeans. Our 11:00 AM service is more traditional with most of our male members wearing a coat and tie and most of our ladies wearing dresses.
What kind of music can I expect to hear at Buffalo on a typical Sunday Morning?
Like the attire, our music varies between our two services. The early risers service features contemporary music much like that you hear on the radio on Stations like K-love. Our worship leader in that service plays music on both the piano and guitar. The traditional service features classic hymns played on the piano and is led by our choir. Although the styles are a little different the common theme you can expect is exaltation of Christ. We sing for one purpose, to glorify God.
How long are the services?
You can expect to be in worship around an hour.
Where do my children go?
We have Sunday school classes for children of all ages, and a nursery for those who are under 2. We also have children’s church during the worship hour.
How do I become a member of Buffalo?
Here at Buffalo, we ask that you meet with our pastor for membership counseling before becoming a full fledged member. If you are interested, just let him know after one of our worship gatherings, or grab one of his cards from the vestibule and give him a call to schedule a meeting.
How can I be baptized?
At Buffalo, we take baptism very seriously. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience by which the believer publicly confesses faith in Christ and symbolizes the believer’s experience with God. Immersion and Belief are essential. As with Church membership, we ask that you meet with our pastor for baptism and membership counseling before being baptized. If you are interested, just let him know after one of our worship gatherings, or grab one of his cards from the vestibule and give him a call to schedule a meeting.
